This natural-processed coffee comes from the Keffa zone of Ethiopia's SNNPR region, grown at 1800–2000 MASL in fertile red-brown clay soil.

About Dinkalem Ademe

Dinkalem Ademe's farm spans around 400 hectares. Most of it is blanketed in Keffa's native forest with roughly 40 hectares planted in coffee, along with a mix of new and old trees, including some Wush Wush variety.

Dinkalem has been growing coffee on this land in the village of Checho long before his current partnership with the sourcing team. That partnership dates back to 2017, and the team has seen consistent quality from him and his farm year after year. Dinkalem's plan is to steward the land carefully, gradually replacing older trees with new ones. He's also building an outgrower's program that brings economic benefits to his neighbours and friends.

Zema is an Amharic word meaning melody, or sacred song in the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition. The name was chosen to honour the deep connection to music shared by the team and their partners, and to proudly represent the song of Ethiopia.
