More about Benjamin:

Benjamin represents a new generation of coffee producer: a millennial who, rather than inheriting coffee production from his parents, has instead chosen to work with coffee due to a genuine interest, ambition and seeing specialty coffee’s potential.

Although coffee production is in his family’s history, Benjamin’s father, Fidel Paz, actually gave up being a coffee farmer due to the abysmally low prices coffee was valued at during the 1989 crisis stemming from the failed negotiations of the International Coffee Agreement. During this period, Fidel founded Exportedora de Cafe San Vicente, which has since become one of the leading (if not the lead) exporters of Honduran specialty coffee.

Since finishing his studies, Benjamin has been working in the family export business and at the behest of clients’ requests, bought land to plant coffee in 2012.

Today, Benjamin oversees two of his own plantations, together with Elias Meza, the farms’ full-time manager, and he is also working together with long-time CCS partners, the Moreno family, on planting some more experimental varieties in the future. These include SL-28, gesha and orange bourbon. Benjamin won the 2022 Cup of Excellence with his delicious washed gesha.

This coffee is from Honduras and has notes of pear, blueberry, caramel, milk chocolate, and almond.
