The TOS Aroma Carafe is a three-way collaboration between 2016 World Brewers Cup champion Tetsu Kasuya, Barcelona-based coffee equipment brand SIBARIST, and ORIGAMI. The project began with Kasuya's interest in applying a wine aerator-like concept to coffee, influencing brewed coffee after extraction rather than during it. Kasuya developed and tested the idea, SIBARIST led the concept and design, and ORIGAMI handled manufacturing.

Both the ceramic and glass version of this carafe share the same core design: a wide base for easy swirling and a narrowed opening to concentrate and retain aroma. The handleless silhouette is minimalist and intuitive to use.

Ceramic Carafe

• Includes: Carafe and handle only — the ceramic option does not include the distributor
• Due to slight individual variations in the porcelain opening diameter, the glass carafe's distributor insert is not compatible with the porcelain version
• Hand-finished in Japan by skilled artisans, each piece is made individually
• Vegetable-tanned cowhide leather handle included — condition the leather regularly with leather oil and dry thoroughly if it gets wet
• Colour transfer may occur from the cowhide leather to the ceramic caraafe
  
• A small raised spot may occasionally appear on the inside of the carafe base — this is a natural result of the drain casting process and is not a defect

Glass Carafe

• Includes: Carafe, handle, and distributor
• Includes a polypropylene distributor insert that directs brewed coffee to flow down the inner wall of the carafe rather than dropping straight down, reducing agitation and limiting exposure to air during transfer
• Silicone handle included
  
• Bubbles or surface irregularities in the glass may occur during manufacturing and are not considered defects

Care Instructions (Glass & Ceramic Carafes)

• Due to the narrow opening, a wine decanter brush is recommended for cleaning
• Do not use metal scrubbers or abrasive sponges to avoid scratches
• For staining, soak with a small amount of baking soda in warm water for 20–30 minutes before rinsing
• Dry upside down after washing
• Microwave and dishwasher safe, thermal shock resistant to 120°C
• Avoid sudden temperature changes
