HIFLUX built the High Fast filter to bring out the full complexity, viscosity, and clarity of your coffee. To do that, they rethought what a filter is made of.

The moment you grind coffee, you create fines. These tiny particles help extraction along, but they can also clog your filter and carry unwanted flavours into the cup. Conventional paper filters use a random matrix of wood pulp fibres, which gives them a highly inconsistent range of pore sizes. HIFLUX takes a different approach. Their Lyocell filter uses a unique 3D weave that holds significantly more fines.

The HIFLUX team also discovered that micro-particles under 20 micrometres can add body and mouthfeel. So they engineered these filters with a precise, uniform pore size that lets those particles build texture and depth in the cup. The Lyocell fabric also lets more lipid-based compounds through, which lifts flavour clarity and aromatics.
