This is the first product in the “ReWork” project that uses recycled porcelain that was crushed during production. The ReWork dripper has the same shape as the existing ORIGAMI dripper, but the major difference is in its manufacturing process, which uses 20% recycled porcelain that was crushed during production.
The 20 ribs (grooves) create a space between the dripper and the paper, allowing the hot water to escape smoothly and enabling a wide variety of brewing. The ORIGAMI Dripper's simple, lean product design has a “shimmering” appearance that can be felt because it is made from clay mixed with crushed recycled porcelain and fired.
The unglazed, matte finish, which preserves the unique texture of the porcelain, gives the dripper a sophisticated appearance.
Dripper's ribs to support extraction
The most distinctive feature of the ORIGAMI dripper is the evenly spaced vertical ribs.
Twenty ribs calculated to an exquisite depth provide a path for air to pass between the dripper and paper. This stabilizes the speed at which hot water flows down and allows for ideal extraction.
Compatible with two types of paper filters: conical and wave
ORIGAMI's drippers feature the ability to use two types of paper filters: conical (cone) and wave.
The different shapes of paper used will change the taste of the coffee extracted.
When using the wave type, which has a thinner layer of ground coffee, the hot water takes less time to pass through the ground coffee layer, resulting in a more even and stable extraction.
If you use the conical type, which has a thicker layer of ground coffee than the wave type, there will be a difference in the extraction state between the upper and lower layers of grounds.
The taste of coffee extracted from the same coffee will differ depending on the type of paper filter.
Porcelain material suitable for extraction
ORIGAMI's drippers are made of ceramic.
Its high thermal conductivity and heat retention properties make it an ideal material for coffee brewing.
*The size of the ReWork dripper is slightly different from the original ORIGAMI dripper because it is made of recycled ceramic clay. It is a few mm larger than the original ORIGAMI dripper, but still the same paper filter, holder, etc. can be used. Due to the reuse of ceramics, all ReWork drippers are unique and no dripper is exactly the same.
