The Santamaria family has been farming in Paso Ancho, Chiriqui since the 1950s, when patriarch Don Urbano Santamaria established what would become one of Panama's most recognized coffee estates. The farm passed through Jose Luis in the 1980s before Edwin Santamaria took over in the 1990s, shaping the estate's processing program into what it is today. Edwin now runs the operation alongside his son Edwin Jr., carrying nearly 75 years of agricultural legacy into the current generation. The estate first appeared on the Best of Panama podium in 2017, placing third in both Geisha Natural and Geisha Washed, and has continued to place in subsequent years.

This lot is a washed Geisha grown at 1,700 – 1,950 masl. Washed processing removes all fruit from the bean prior to drying, allowing the variety's inherent character to come through clearly.
